What can we say here. I think this one out does the 2007! Is it possible? You be the judge. We have found that this Sangiovese, from the Rocky Hill Vineyards in Angels Camp, gives us the sense of looking out over the hills of Montalcino, Italy. It resembles the Vino Nobiles and Brunellos of that region with its rich noble fruit, polished floral aromas and gentle vanilla spice. You won't be able to set your glass down, it is just of of those wines that is simply fun to explore.

Zucca is becoming known for yet another wine: Syrah!

What is that? Dolcetto (Dole-Chett-Toh) is a cute little Italian grape that no one has ever heard of. From the northern part of Italy, it's name means little sweet one, but in fact it is not known for being a sweet wine. The grape itself has thick skin which gives off lots of color and structure. We have typically blended this in the past but found it to be such a great summer red that we bottled it "solo". Our 2009 Dolcetto is light, structured, aromatic and just the perfect choice for a summer barbeque meal. SILVER MEDAL (State Fair)

This Barbera is another show stopper from Zucca. The highlight of our Barberas it is being compared to the 2004 vintage. The rich, luscious berrys make way for deep vanillas and smooth fruit tannins. Not to be taken lightly, this wine is bold but gentle and will appeal to all wine lovers. 296 cases made.

Sleek and pink, this wine is a refreshing breeze with a hint of fruit. As summer slips away, sit down and enjoy some sunny and fruity aromas in this dry rosato. A great choice for a fall evening. The sangiovese's cherry and dried current characters are the foundation for bright peaches and cream on the palate.

The wine rolls on the palate as if you were walking a red velour carpet into the cliffside streets of Monaco on a cool fall evening. Surrounded by royal distinction, your senses are mesmerized with delicately presented tobacco, walnut, marzipan, sweet black tea, jam and vanilla bean. The finish is long and velvety with a touch of fumée. Gold Medal Winner - Calaveras County Fair. Zucca's 2009 Chardonnay has fruit forward aromas of sweet melon, asian pears, apples and cream. It has been aged mostly in stainless steel with 25% oak and 15% ML. It is fruity, crisp with a touch of creamy butter and lovely oak. Very well balanced this 2009 Chardonnay is just delightful.

Zucca is excited to present to you a new wine in the library! This little grape helped put Argentina on the map and is known for it’s exotic flavors. We were drawn to it because of it’s character and felt that it would be bring some diversity to our selections, plus it is fun to do new things! You will find that this wine is like a forbidden love affair: “hot and spicy” , rich fruit punches through notes of vanilla, cocoa and tobacco with energizing zest! SILVER MEDAL (CC fair)

This blend is a 70% Zinfandel and 30% Syrah. It has lots of flavors to offer from delicate flowery tones to jam and vanilla bean and a touch of spice with some smooth sweetness at the end. Chill this wine for fun in the summer and enjoy this wine before or after diner!
